Having a relaxing evening at home

Like most of the country, I am home listening to President Obama speaking on health reform. I happen to agree with alot of what he is saying. Insurance is just so expensive and then the coverage is minimal. Basic medical needs have become "elective". Really? Since when is a medication that can prevent a heart attack or further damage considered "elective". Then there are those (mostly greedy employers) who thinks its unfair that they are required to pay for health care but they don't see any wrong in lining their pockets at the backs of employees who are at the bottom of the pole. There are some things that are basic and I don't mind paying my fair share. Case in point: President Obama 'attacked' sin taxes to pay for child health care to the tune of some 8 million dollars to ensure otherwise uninsured children. The taxes were geared at what is known as "sin" ie. cigarettes, alcohol, gambling, etc. Well I am not a drinker and I don't gamble but I do buy a pack of cigarettes once a week (yes, I am trying to quit) but I am not mad at the excess taxes. Get over it people. This country has alot to answer for and not only that there is much "correction" to be done from years and years of abuse and neglect on the part of this country. Health care is but a small portion of the equation. IMHO.
